ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT
Exams
At Çakabey Private Schools, a certain number of general evaluation exams (GDS), together with each subject`s periodical common exams, are given starting in the 4th grade. The purpose of these exams is to evaluate students' learning on the topics they covered thus far. In addition, it familiarizes them with the multiple choice technique as well as evaluates their levels within the class and the school. The questions for these exams are prepared by our own teachers. The questions for SBS and OSS are prepared by both Çakabey and outside sources and they aim to evaluate students' knowledge of the relevant material. Following these exams, analyses are made for each individual student.
Assessment and Evaluation Unit
Following the GDS, SBS and OSS exams, an expert team from the Department of Evaluation analyzes each student's score on all subjects. These are kept in an individual folder for each student throughout the year. Moreover, the results of all exams that a student takes in his private study center are also stored by the school. Analyses are prepared to compare the results between those exams and the ones the student takes at school.
Extra Classes and One-to-one Studies
At Çakabey Private Schools the main objective for the student is to learn within the lesson in an enriched learning environment. However according to the analysis, extra group classes and/or one-to-one studies are provided to make up and supply extra support to those who need it. These weekday or weekend courses are free of charge and an evaluation exam is given at the end of them to evaluate the students' progress. The reason for this is to decide on the longevity and the content of the course.
• Every year in August, a course is held to get the 12th grade students ready for OSS. This course, which is followed by an exam, helps students focus on OSS and become aware of their needed improvements and to make the necessary adjustments before the term starts.
Homework (E-Homework)
All the homework given to support learning at each grade is published on the school website on the same day. This way both students and parents can follow the homework easily. The homework is also checked by the teachers in order to develop student accountability.
E-Lesson
One of the most important parts of the Academic Development Program at Çakabey Private Schools is the E- Lesson that started in the 2010-11 school year. It removes the time and place restrictions for students to revise a specific topic. The lessons, which cover introductions and tests, are shot in Çakabey's media office by Çakabey Private School's own teachers. The lessons start from the 4th grade up.
