TECHNOLOGY CLASSES

Technology classes have been used since 2005 at Çakabey Private Schools. At the beginning of the 2009-2010 terms all classrooms starting from the fourth grade, laboratories and German-French classes were turned into technology classes. Kindergarten, the first, second and third grades on the other hand, do have lessons at least twice a week in the technology classes. (There are also computers and projectors in all first, second and third grade classes where the students can make best use of education technology.)

The system; consisting of a computer, data projector and digital board is used during the technology lessons. Thanks to this digital board technology, teachers can use interactive Cd Rom's, films and Microsoft Office formats that greatly facilitate and enhance information sharing teaching building in unlimited ways. All lesson materials shown on the digital board such as notes, drawings and films are saved in the computer system. Therefore, the teacher can continue the lesson wherever they left off, browse through previous topics, use the internet and get print outs. Technology classes avoid wasting time on writing and erasing and help permanent learning with their rich visual impact.
The lessons which the teachers find most useful are posted on the school website can be accessed by absent students or used for revision. The students can search for topics in order to revise previous lessons. (All lessons can also be printed out and organized by topic.)

• ÇakabeyPrivate Schools support the idea that technology alone is not sufficient and it only benefits the students when they are used in a high quality education process. As a result of seminars on 'technology classes' and 'digital boards' taken by the teaching staff, Çakabey Private Schools has become a reference to other schools in using these classes productively.
